We are pleased to announce leadership transitions at Arctic to support our long-term vision and continued success.

  • Petter Bakken, co-founder and Head of Investment Banking, resigns from Arctic, marking the end of his active career in the investment banking industry.
  • Steffen Rødsjø, Head of Seafood, will take over as Head of Investment Banking, succeeding Petter. The Investment Banking (IB) department will continue exactly as before, with no further changes.
  • Robert Christiansen, Head of Fixed Income and Equity Sales, will assume the role of Deputy CEO at the same time.

All changes will take effect on April 1. They reflect Arctic’s long-term strategy and generational shift, ensuring a strong foundation for the future.

While Petter resigns from Arctic, he will remain a valuable resource during the transition. He continues as an owner and will serve on the boards of several Arctic Group companies.

An incredible journey

– When we founded Arctic in 2007 as a pure start-up with five people, I could hardly have imagined the incredible journey ahead. It has been truly exciting and deeply gratifying, and I am proud of what we have built together. I am especially thankful to Mads and other partners, present and former colleagues, clients, and the entire Arctic network for making this experience possible, says Petter.

– Resigning from Arctic is the right decision at the right time, both for me personally and for Arctic. The business is thriving, and our IB team is stronger than ever. Steffen brings extensive experience across multiple sectors and products in IB, he is a role model for our culture and values, and with him at the helm, we are positioning Arctic for the future. I am confident that he will do an outstanding job leading and further developing the IB division, he adds.

– Simply put, without Petter, there would be no Arctic. From the very beginning, his dedication, leadership, and energy have been instrumental in shaping Arctic into what it is today. I am grateful for everything he has contributed and the journey we have shared, says CEO Mads Syversen.

Robert Christiansen Appointed Deputy CEO

While stepping into a broader strategic role of Deputy CEO, Robert will continue as Head of Fixed Income and Equity Sales, maintaining his strong commercial focus and deep engagement with clients:

– I look forward to working across the organization to coordinate key processes and further strengthen Arctic’s client-focused business areas, while also supporting Mads in his role as CEO, says Robert.

Hege Marthinussen will continue in her role as Deputy CEO with leadership responsibility for support functions. With this change, Arctic will now have two Deputy CEOs, each with clearly defined responsibilities.

– I am happy that Robert and Steffen will take on these important roles. Going forward, I am confident that we are well positioned to further develop Arctic and create strong results together in the future, says CEO Mads Syversen.
