Trond Mohn increases his stake in Arctic Securities AS

Trond Mohn, through his company Meteva AS, acquires RASMUSSENGRUPPEN’s ownership interest of 20 per cent in Arctic Securities.

Mohn already owns 12.5 per cent of the company.

RASMUSSENGRUPPEN has been a shareholder in Arctic Securities since 2010.
RASMUSSENGRUPPEN has played an important role in the development of Arctic Securities. We therefore want to thank them for a constructive and good period of cooperation, says Inge K. Hansen, Chairman of the Board of Arctic Securities.

Dag Rasmussen, Managing Director of RASMUSSENGRUPPEN, says that they prefer to be invested in liquid securities, and that they deemed it right to sell when Trond Mohn wanted to increase his stake in the company. Rasmussen underlines that RASMUSSENGRUPPEN will retain its ownership stake in the asset management business through Arctic Asset Management and Arctic Fund Management.

CEO Mads H. Syversen of Arctic Securities considers Trond Mohn’s decision to further increase his ownership stake in Arctic a great vote of confidence.

He will play a more active part in the time to come with respect to the company’s business strategy and development, both as an owner and as part of the Arctic team. This is very inspiring and positive.

The investment I made in Arctic before Christmas last year whetted my appetite. It will be exciting to become more involved in the future development of the company, says Trond Mohn.

Trond Mohn’s investment coincides with Arctic increasing emphasis on its international activities. Key initiatives for these expansive efforts include the establishment of a New York office, increased presence in Sweden as well as further development and growth of Nor-Ocean Offshore AS. Arctic is also pursuing business opportunities in Asia. The company sees additional growth opportunities in Norway for the subsidiaries Arctic Capital AS and the recently founded Arctic Insurance Broker AS, in addition to the company’s other Norwegian core businesses.
